The Tardy Panda

The last couple of months for the Panda family have been wonderful, and filled to the brim!  As a result, I have fallen behind in my usual pattern of posts and updates.  I am sorry to have left a panda-shaped hole in your internet browsing, but hopefully this post will make up for it!

Our family was blessed to have the opportunity to return to the US for the month of August; spending four weeks with family and friends.  It was wonderful to get to see so many people from the many parts of our lives.  While we couldn't get to everyone we wanted, we have already started the list for the next time we are home!  Of course, another wonderful part of our trip home was enjoying our favourite KC area restaurants; food here in Northern Ireland is good, but sometimes you just want great Mexican, or real BBQ!

Of all the things that happened while we were home, the most meaningful by a long way was being able to celebrate the baptism of our son.  For all those that took the time to join us for the service, and all those that couldn't be there in person but were present in spirit, thank you!  Mary Erin and I continue to be reminded, almost daily, how lucky we are to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends and family.  Our son has already been blessed time and again by your love and support, and we are deeply thankful that he will continue to be for his whole life.  Below are some photos from the baptism service.

The last month since our return to Groomsport has been filled with a host of small adventures and outings.  We have had two house-guests, made trips to the north coast and several National Trust properties, and enjoyed the start of monthly fellowship lunches at church.  In the last month the Little Panda has taken to enjoying a variety of solid foods; his favourites include oranges and asparagus, but he hasn't found anything he hasn't munched on with enthusiasm.  When he isn't covering himself in food, he enjoys standing on mom and dad's laps (with plenty of support of course!) or sitting in his newly arranged play corner, where he can reach all his toys and books.

Thanks again for being part of our lives!  If you are going to be in Ireland, especially in the North, let us know; we love having company, even if only for a few hours.

From our family to yours, wishing you every blessing until we meet again!
