Sharing the Adventure
It’s been a moment since we shared an update about our adventures, and more importantly, shared PHOTOS of our adventures! So, here’s a glimpse of what’s happened in the past year and a bit.
Our last post featured the good news of our youngest’s successful heart surgery. Since then there have been hurdles, quite a few hospitalizations, and more appointments than I can count — HOWEVER, we are delighted in the progress she is making. While kiddos with trisomy 21 / Down Syndrome certainly move on their own schedule, we have seen some amazing strides over the past year. She is now off oxygen during the day, is able to eat many solid foods, and is crawling. The wonderful support of our medical team, local early childhood team, and our family and friends have made this journey so much easier.
Our older two continue to thrive. It’s hard to believe than in the next couple months they will be 8 and 5! They enjoy all kinds of activities, from soccer and t-ball to horseback riding and swimming. Our oldest started this fall in Cub Scouts and is getting ready for his first ever Pinewood Derby this weekend.
This past summer, Mary Erin and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. We were blessed to have family support watching the kids so we could take a long-planned trip, spending just over 2 weeks visiting family in Denmark and exploring the Baltic Sea on a 10-night cruise. It was a wonderful, refreshing time after a long past few years.
