A Step in the Journey
This past weekend I took another step in my journey toward ordination in the Presbyterian Church. I had the joy of appearing before Heartland Presbytery and being accepted as a Candidate for Ordination. What this means (in simple terms) is that I am now in the final stage of my preparation for ordination in terms of the church process. One year from last Saturday I will be eligible to be "certified to receive a call" - this will allow me to begin the conversation with congregations where I might serve as pastor.
Before I can be ordained several things still need to happen. There are three ordination exams that I will take this coming August, and of course I will need to complete my course work here at Princeton Theological, including a placement this summer as an intern chaplain at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA.
It is amazing to think that in about a year and a half I will have completed my studies here at Princeton and will be taking the next step in this adventure. Thank you to everyone who has been along for the ride!
