Being Pruned
On July 5th, 2015, I experienced the joy and honor of being ordained as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA). That morning, before all the guests and visitors arrived, I preached my final sermon as a candidate for ministry. The seed of the sermon came to me during a prayer retreat at Holy Cross Monastery; that seed was the question "what might it look like to be pruned by God?"
